Dr. Rommel Pelayo joined Emirates American School as Vice Principal in 2023, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive school performance improvements. He brings 11 years of experience as an educational leader in the UAE, primarily serving as a curriculum developer, operational manager in academics and as Vice Principal in one private American school in Sharjah. Before his move to the UAE, Dr. Pelayo spent over seven years as a Science teacher, eventually becoming Head of the Science Department for 4 years and Vice Principal for 2 years. This early experience was instrumental in building his successful career in educational leadership in the UAE.
Dr. Pelayo holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the Philippines, a Master of Arts in Science Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He has also contributed to accreditation engagement visits with Cognia for American schools in the UAE. Additionally, he has been a speaker and panelist at various educational conferences across the UAE, including events organized by Cognia, Amity University, and the American University of Sharjah.
